Buying Prescription Glasses

You've decided to give buying prescription glasses online a try. Nice one! We are here to make the process as simple and smooth as possible.

Step 1: Choose the Frame or Sunglasses

Simply start browsing our range of frames and narrow them down to your favourite pair. Once you've decided on which pair to choose, now it's time to choose your lenses.

Step 2: Choose the Lenses

Simply decide whether you would like single vision, bifocal or progressive spectacle lenses. Usually your optometrist will have discussed with you which one you may need.

Know Our Lens Options:

Anti-reflective coatings & Scratch Resistance

All our lenses come standard with a Hoya VP anti-reflective coating which offers supreme scratch resistance, reduces glare and is easy to clean.

Bluelight Blocking Lenses

Hoya Bluecontrol lenses with anti-reflective and anti-scratch coating lenses are designed to block out harmful blue light from digital screens. Studies have demonstrated that blue light is a major cause of visual fatigue, eye strain and even retinal damage.

Transitions Lenses

Transitions Generation 7 lenses with anti-reflective and anti-scratch coating react to UV light, making them clear indoors and tinted outdoors*. These are convenient for those who don't wish to carry an extra pair of sunglasses or are glare sensitive.

These are grey when they tint.

*Please note that these only tint slightly while in the car.

Prescription Sunglasses Lenses

Polarised lenses

Polarised lenses are our recommended lens type for sunglasses as they offer maximum glare reduction as well as UV protection. We use premium Nupolar Hoya lenses which reduce light transmission by 85%, offering you the darkest legal tints for your sunglasses.

Choices are Green, Brown or Grey.

Tinted lenses

Tinted lenses are also 99.9% UV protectant, but do not offer the same level of glare reduction. They will still look the same from the outside observer. This is a lower cost option or for those who want more colour choices in their sunglasses lenses.

Choices are Green, Brown or Grey, Red, Pink, Blue, Purple, Yellow, Graduated (Gradient) Brown, Graduated Green, Graduated Grey, Graduated Blue in 85% tint intensities.

Lens Index

Hi Index lenses are 1.6 Index, which are 30% thinner and lighter than your standard.

Hi Index 1.67 lenses are 40% thinner and lighter than your standard lenses.

Step 3: Upload your prescription.

Be sure to include your PD (Pupillary Distance) measurement. You can always email that later to wyoming@glamoureyes.com.au.

Then "Add to Cart."

Rest assured that because we are an optometry practice, we will always ensure that your lenses will always look great in your glasses or sunglasses. If not, we will call or email you to advise of any ideal changes before we go ahead with any order.

Step 4: Measurements for Progressive or Bifocal Lenses.

Pop into your nearest Glamoureyes Optometrist store so that we can measure these up before getting them made. Please call ahead or email us to ensure that the frame or sunglasses are in the correct store before coming in.

That's it. Now sit tight and wait while we process your order and have them shipped out to you with a case and cleaning cloth for your enjoyment.

Buying the Frame or Sunglasses Only

If you have a local optometrist or optical dispensary that you would like to use, then that is absolutely fine with us. We're glad we could offer you something to your liking. All of our frames and sunglasses will still come with a 12 month manufacturers warranty for any defects.

Healthfunds

We can email you a receipt so that you may claim from your healthfund directly. Many healthfunds will have a website or mobile app that will allow you to process your claims online.
